Empathy in Action

Empathy in Action

a conference for helping professionals

Champlain College Saint-Lambert

May 23, 2019

“I think we all have empathy. We may not have enough courage to display it.” –Maya Angelou

Empathy is key to understanding the ‘other’. It includes compassion, the capacity to connect and risk vulnerability. It is fundamental to working effectively with clients who need our care and support. It means being able to gain the perspective of the ‘other’. Empathy needs to be reflected not only in our daily practice but also in the policies we develop and implement. Is it possible to have effective interventions without empathy? Join us May 23, 2019 to learn more. Participants will also have the chance to connect and share with other professionals during the conference and networking lunch.
